Robin Broomfield, 3D Operations and Development Manager, BSkyB
Robin Broomfield joined Sky in 2009 at the beginning of the 3D project. He was responsible for the development of the facilities and the systems for creating live 3D TV content, resulting in the launch of Sky 3D, Europe’s first dedicated 3D channel, in 2010.
In his role, Robin works with the Sky 3D team to help Sky maintain its global leadership in 3D TV production. His responsibilities include the development and improvement of the 3D hardware and content, training in all aspects of 3D production, and channel operations.
He has worked in the broadcast industry for many years in Technical Operations , Projects and Management. Events have previously included The Olympics & Winter Games, World Cups, Asia Games and Volvo RTW Yacht Races.
