PLAZAMEDIA has expanded its postproduction facilities with 16 Avid clients and a 30 terabyte mirrored ISIS-storage system. All systems work with an Avid Nitris DX box, creating a complete HD workflow. In addition to this new mirrored 30TB storage system, an exclusive 48TB ISIS-storage system with five Avid edit suites has been installed for sister company BRANDSOME.

Both systems have their own Interplay database, allowing media to be transferred to and from the two systems completely independently at any time, thus providing clients with a total of 16 new Avid Media Composers, version 5.0, for networked editing.

This extension of the production environment will allow multiple codecs to be processed on the system in native mode in future. This allows a native XDCAM workflow to be implemented, as the eCenter in-house archiving system is based on the XDCAM codec.

In addition, the Avid Web services enable direct transfer from the EVS world onto the ISIS-storage system. This variant affects all production workflows in connection with broadcasting operations and studios.

The Avid environment is closely linked to the existing EVS environment, allowing operators to make consistent use of synergy effects and implement non-linear workflows.
