Sony Professional has announced that it has appointed David Nortier as head of sales for North Europe. Bringing more than 20 years’ experience to the company, Nortier will be responsible for the UK, Ireland, Benelux and Nordic country sales.
Joining Sony in late August 2015, Nortier takes over from David Cheesman. As the former managing director of Signiant, he boasts a proven track record in implementing coherent business strategies for driving efficiency and future-proofing investments. As Sony continues to be a technology business partner to broadcasters and production companies alike, Nortier will draw on his experience to concentrate on helping customers streamline workflows, harness 4K and IP, and transition to new formats.
Nortier commented: “I am delighted to be joining Sony, a company which leads the industry in workflow solutions and is at the forefront of technological innovation for 4K and IP. Each customer is different and there is no one-size-fits-all solution to increase workflow efficiency or make the transition to new formats. Sony understands this and its collaborative mantra will mean that my team and I can offer customers what they need to get the most out of their investments.”
Olivier Bovis, head of AV media at Sony Professional Europe, added: “David brings a huge wealth of experience to Sony and he will play an integral part in bringing the latest technologies and solutions to broadcasters and production companies across Northern Europe.
“Broadcasters look to firms like Sony to be more than a manufacturer, providing counsel on the best way to make their investments go further. As 4K adoption continues to pick-up speed and companies look to streamline their workflows they need to know their investments are sound, matched by unquestionable quality. Sony and David are perfectly aligned in their thinking and he will be an invaluable asset to the company.”
