European Tour Productions and CTV are once again working with graphics services provider MST Systems, a provider of golf-related graphics services since 1996. The company has seven Chyron graphics engines (and a spare) that have been rehoused into racks that are designed to travel and also have exclusive features like BNC connectors and customised rear panels.

“We re-engineered them to make them more convenient to fly around and Chyron supplied us with the boards and let us do it, something not all companies will let you do,” says David Bettinson, MST System, managing director.

Each of the graphics units is tied into the scoring and shot data and handles a specific need: graphics for the world feed and BSkyB, the leaderboard, the ticker, character generation needs, a dedicated unit for Sky, and a backup.

“They look after Sky and world feed graphics so they know what the golf requirements are and they can also do fast turnaround graphics and rebuild them on site,” says Hamish Grieg, CTV OB, technical director.
